My mum and anorexia
We cannot tell who has an eating disorder just by looking at them. While it is true that many sufferers of anorexia look emaciated, many of those who suffer from eating disorders appear to be within the normal weight range, and are not limited to female models and teenagers, as stereotypes would suggest.
Through this project, I aim to share the experiences of my mother who has lived with anorexia for thirty years, and my perspective as her daughter. Demonstrating the impact eating disorders have on families, as well as those who suffer with anorexia long term.
Through images and text, I hope to examine the complexities of this disorder and for this project to offer a voice to those affected by anorexia.
